A very useful handout to give to your students who are studying IGCSE or A-Level French.
This colourful handout explicitly outlines the six direct and indirect object pronouns both in the present tense and perfect tense, as well as the distinction between the direct object pronouns and the indirect object pronouns in the perfect tense. This resource is free, help yourself!
Happy teaching and learning!
I spent four years creating this resource and it is now finally published!
This resource is a workbook which explores the vocabulary and grammar exclusively extracted and followed from the Cambridge IGCSE French textbook second edition (published in 2017) and most of the third edition (published in 2019). The latter may have some differences regarding the order of the contents of the book which may not appear in this resource, but it does exclusively follow the second edition. Moreover, the activities are extensively differentiated.
The contents of this resource cover all of the topics covered in the 2017 textbook, EXCEPT for ’ C6.1 - trouver son chemin’, ‘C6.2 - Ca se trouve où, sil vous plait …?’, ‘C6.3 - Pouvez-vous expliquer exactement …?’, ‘C9.1 - On se deplace’ and ‘D4.1 - Je vais leur téléphoner’.
Please do keep an eye out for the accompanied listening workbook, also extracted from the 2017 textbook edition, in which the listening activities have been modified and extensively differentiated. It will be uploaded very shortly.

This presentation focuses on demonstrative pronouns in French which is covered at IGCSE and A-level French. It explicitly highlights the main demonstrative pronouns in question followed by subsequent activities with differentiated levels.
Happy teaching and learning!
This resource explicitly outlines a very broad cultural element such as the great distinctions as to when to use the 'tu' or the 'vous' form. Students complete the quiz reassuring them of any unfamiliar vocabulary and then they read the cartoon strip followed by another quiz on the story and there are follow up activities on it.
This resource is geared towards learners of Key Stage 2/3 level.
Happy teaching and learning!
This powerpoint introduces common question words in French with follow-up interactive activities. This presentation is aimed at learners of Key Stage 3/4 level, in particular GCSE/IGCSE level.
Happy teaching and learning!
This presentation gives a thorough explanation of how to form the present participle in French in a way to convey that two actions are happening at the same time. This would be ideal for students who are studying IGCSE French, A-Level French and adults who are simply studying french for the first time or revision.
Here is a presentation for learning members of the family. It is also good for consolidating possessive words and also gender which is why all the words have been highlighted in either blue or pink. This is suitable for teaching Key Stage 2 French as there is a story with true/false questions which consolidates what the children have learnt. Enjoy!
Drill practice using the pluperfect tense in French for those who find tense formation difficult. This stage will greatly focus on the use of auxiliary verbs in the imperfect tense form, distinguish whether to use 'avoir' or 'etre' as the auxiliary verb and verb agreements according to gender and number. This stage also revises Stage 3: The imperfect tense, Stage 2: The perfect tense and Stage 1: The present tense.
This activity is carried in eight stages:
Stage 1: Common basic irregular verbs: Aller, Faire, Avoir, Etre, Boire, Ouvrir, Prendre, Croire
Stage 2: Regular -er verbs: Parler, Manger, Regarder, Partager, Entrer, Porter, Essayer, Arriver
Stage 3: Regular -ir verbs: Finir, Ralentir, Choisir, Grandir, Fournir, Batir
Stage 4: Regular -re verbs: Vendre, Rendre, Attendre, Perdre, Repondre, Descendre, Entendre, Tendre
Stage 5: Irregular -re verbs: Dire, Lire, Mettre, Ecrire, Suivre, Craindre, Connaitre, Inclure
Stage 6: Irregular -ir verbs: Voir, Vouloir, Pouvoir, Savoir, Devoir Recevoir
Stage 7: More irregular -ir verbs and intransitive verbs (verbs that take 'etre'): Tenir, Venir, Partir, Sortir, Revenir, Mourir
Stage 8: Impersonal verbs and sample reflexive verbs: Pleuvoir, Falloir, Valoir, S'agir, Se reposer, S'attendre, Se souvenir
It is difficult at times to remember the conjugation of the tenses which is why I have designed these activities as means of becoming deeply acquainted with the conjugation. Repetition is the key! There are two tests available for the perfect tense which are titled as 'Partie 4-9: Test au plus-que-parfait' and 'Partie 4-9a: Test au niveau superieur'. I would recommend taking these tests before commencing 'Partie 5: Le temps au futur'

I would recommend taking these tests before commencing 'Partie 3: Le temps a l'imparfait'
Whether you are generally revising the perfect tense in the negative form or teaching it for the first time, here is an activity that will give students a firm acquaintance with this concept or greatly revise it. There is also a wordsearch where students find 29 hidden verbs and write them in the correct column in the table below.

Welcome to the first installment of the advanced series for adults who are studying French, published by Palmer Language Services.
At this level, students are beginning to adopt a more independent approach in their studies and tend to evade from the use of their mother-tongue language influence, thus the use of extracting material from texts.
This resource extensively explores the unique life and story of Jeanne Louise Calment who lived to an incredible age of 122 years and 164 days and she was only verified human being to have lived to such an age. She also outlived both her daughter and grandson by several decades. The introduction of the subjunctive, using the verbs ‘avoir’ and ‘être’ are also incorporated in this activity, in addition to using them as auxiliary verbs when the perfect subjunctive is formed.
Initially, before reading the text, students should be asked in French if they have any knowledge about Jeanne Calment and if so, what do they know about her. Students should then read the text out loud and then complete the subsequent activities which follow. This resource also incorporates all four key skills such as listening, reading, writing and speaking, in addition to an array of grammar activities.
The good news is that you don’t have any particular need to make any preparatory planning, prior to teaching this topic as all the material contained is self-explanatory, which will enable the students to think for themselves.
The contents of this resource are as follows:
The worksheet activities
Sound file for the listening activity
The transcript for the listening activity

This powerpoint provides explicit instructions on the function of the indirect object pronouns for ‘lui’ and ‘leur’ in the present tense, as well as how they are structured in sentences. There are also many follow up activities in order to reinforce learning. This activity is geared towards students of Key Stage 3, IGCSE level and it is also good revision for A-Level French.

Preparation time: 30 minutes - 1 hour (introducing new vocabulary and also the transcript and sound files for the listening activity)
Lesson length: 1.5 hours - 2 hours
Here is the 10th resource for introducing French to adults at beginner’s level!
I have compiled this resource using an adult approach who are learning French for the very first time.
This activity focuses on the time around the clock in between intervals, i.e. seventeen minutes past four, twenty-three minutes to three, etc. It also incorporates the verbs ‘partir’ and ‘etre’ in the present tense, forming questions using ‘est-ce que’, alongside the distinction between ‘a quelle heure’ and ‘quand’. Several places in France are also introduced. This resource also incorporates all the four keys skills such as reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Accompanied with this resource is the worksheet, the transcript and the sound files for the listening assignment.
I also have a new bundle created which includes all the first ten installments at a discounted price!

This resource looks at various Asian countries in French with their prepositions, such as ‘au’, ‘en’ and ‘aux’. There is a memory game of the prepositions and the names of the Asian countries in French. You can divide the class up into groups and they can score points for their team for every missing country that they remember. There is also a quiz about the countries and subsequently, the students then copy out the table and fill in the missing gaps.
There is also an accompanying colouring in poster of the flags of the Asian countries with a wordsearch. Furthermore, there is a reading comprehension activity attached with differentiated questions.
This resource is geared at Key Stage 3 level.
Happy teaching and learning!
This worksheet gives students the opportunity to build up on their vocabulary by searching for French synonyms and also further practise these new words. A very useful tool when developing learners' writing in preparation for the exam. This worksheet is geared towards very high achieving students, gifted and talented learners and learners whose native tongue is French.
